by posted 03/12/2010

The GDLL will be holding its Spring 2010 Season League Information Day and Parents Positive Coaching Alliance events in the main auditorium at Battlefield High School on Sunday, March 21, 2010, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.  The League Information Day meeting will last approximately 15 minutes.  A representative from the Positive Coaching Alliance will then provide a very informative program similar to the one presented last year.  The Positive Coaching Alliance presentation will last approximately 45 minutes.

At the end of the Positive Coaching Alliance presentation, parents with players in the T-Ball to AAA Divisions will be given the opportunity to meet with the manager for their son/daughter’s team for upcoming Spring season.  The League Information Day and Parents Positive Coaching Alliance events are mandatory for all T-Ball, Coach Pitch, A Division, AA Division and AAA Division managers and coaches.

Both of these events will be very informative.  Please plan to attend.

THIRD ANNUAL FREE GDLL PLAYER DEVELOPMENT DAY CLINIC AT BATTLEFI
by posted 03/11/2010

The GDLL will be holding the Third Annual GDLL Player Development Day clinic on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Battlefield High School.  This event has been moved from Long Park to Battlefield High School this year in order to avoid having to cancel the clinic in the event of inclement weather.  This clinic will again be free of charge to all GDLL players. The clinic is being held in conjunction with the Battlefield High School Baseball program.  The Battlefield High School coaching staff and players will be running instructional drills throughout the clinic. They will also be providing instructional guidance to GDLL players during the clinic.

The clinic will be open to GDLL baseball players ages 7-12. The clinic will run from 10:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Battlefield High School.  The clinic will be conducted on the Battlefield High School Baseball Field, unless it rains or the weather is otherwise bad.  If the weather is inclement, then the clinic will be conducted in the gym at Battlefield High School.

This is going to be another terrific opportunity for GDLL baseball players to learn and work on developmental skills from Battlefield High School Baseball coaching staff and players. This will also be a way for the GDLL players and families to learn more about the Battlefield High School Baseball program and players and vice versa.  The GDLL Board of Directors plans to continue this program as an annual event going forward.  It is just another way that the Board is striving to improve the development of our GDLL baseball players and at the same time provide a fun experience for all involved.

Last year we had a very good turnout for this event.  Our plan is to have an even better program and turnout this year.

Please plan to attend!

2010 Gainesville District Little League Sponsorship Program
by posted 03/01/2010

Date: March 1, 2010

Dear GDLL League Membership:

Sponsorship is a vital resource to maintain league operations and support capital improvements that enhance the baseball playing experience for our children.  Since your child has registered to play GDLL, we want to offer the opportunity to have your business, foundation, or organization become a part of this "win-win" combination.

I am pleased to announce our newly revised program for 2010.  Attached is the program overview as well as a sponsor application. Application by mail click here.

One goal this year was to offer more visibility for each sponsor level.  We are confident we have designed the 2010 program with more opportunities for your organization to receive the exposure it deserves for your valued contribution.  For example, our field sponsor level will include a link to your website as well as valuable Flash Ad space on our home page.

Another goal this year was to simplify the application process so we have 2 enhancements:

1)  You can complete the attached application on-line at our website, www.gdll.org.

2)  We have instituted a pay by credit card option at our website, www.gdll.org.

In effect, everything can now be done electronically.  Your application, your payment, and your logos can all be sent to GDLL via e-mail or by completing on line transactions.  It's easier and it's environmentally friendly too.

We want to have all of our sponsorships in place by March 27, 2010 so if you have a GDLL sponsorship in your plans, you can sign up today.

Your support is vital to our mission to provide the best baseball experience to our area children and their proud parents. Please feel free to contact me with any questions at .

We thank you in advance for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Joe DiRocco

Sponsorship Director &

The GDLL Board of Directors
